The 2023 – 2027 EMCF grazing lease issued for five grazing seasons at a stocking rate of 65 head depending on forage availability. The lease is for a grazing season starting around June 15th and extending to approximately October 1 depending on forage availability. The rate is set at $20.00 per AUM. ENTERPRISE, Ore – To conserve the treasured view of the Wallowa Lake moraines, the plants and wildlife that live there, and the land’s traditional uses, a plan is now guiding the management of the East Moraine Community Forest. Conveyed into county ownership in January 2020 by the Wallowa Lake Moraines Partnership, the management plan was approved by the Wallowa County commissioners at their Sept. 7 meeting and adopted Sept. 21.
